Crabble Corn Mill
A visit to Crabble Corn Mill – a fully working restored water mill. Discover how the power of a small river was ingeniously harnessed to turn wheat into flour. During the visit the groups get the chance to try for themselves turning wheat into flour using Querns on site. Tours are led by knowledgeable volunteer guides from the mill itself.

Deal Seafront
The group experiences the history of our local town from 55AD through to the brand new pier and the historical evidence of everything in between. Starting with the landing place of Julius Caesar and then looking at Deal castle, the fishing fleet, the time ball tower and evidence of Deal’s nautical past and finishing up at the pier giving excellent views of Deal – ideal for either sketching or photo taking.

Deal and Walmer Castles
Part of a series of fortifications built by Henry VIII Deal castle is an important monument to the methods and techniques used to protect Britain. Walmer castle was also constructed by Henry VIII but has been adapted as the accommodation for the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports (currently Admiral the Lord Boyce). Displays in the castle include previous residents such as the Duke of Wellington and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

Dover Seafront / Museum
Investigate how Dover has changed over the past centuries from pre -Roman times, through WW2 to present day physically and geographically and finish with a visit to the museum to see the oldest sea-going vessel in the world -the bronze age boat.

Dover Castle
A visit to an iconic 12th century castle (either independently or tutor led) including access to the ‘Secret Wartime Tunnels’, the siege experience, the keep and excellent education rooms (all dependent on availability). Explore the siege works discover how the site has been in constant use as a defensive position from 1066 up to the cold war. Also discover one of the oldest buildings in Britain – the Roman Pharos lighthouse.
